The Remnants Project was created as a tool to help not only with history preservation but also connecting locals with their family heritage. As a registered 501 c-3 non profit organization with an emphasis on education, the goal is simply to provide extended families access to photos and other keepsake materials. There is no cost for these services. All contributors sign a release form that allows use of materials, but we do not own your original content.. All content is always treated with great care, the contributor retains ownership and the material is posted on this site to help aid others in research. If items from a collection are used on other platforms or websites credit is always given in writing to the owner/contributor of the collection. I consider it a great privilege for individuals to share their family treasures with me, and I treat them as such. Respect, care for items and individuals, and above all the knowledge that all your items will be returned after digitization, are crucial in this process.
